In my blogs I’ve this error:

Sometimes I’ve also see a note to upgrade the plugin to 2.x, then I’ve again 1.17.

Try to set the language to swedish but it stays on portuges_br all the time and the page that I select as Guestbook is not saved, says always “Deactivate super guestbook”

Do you using Chrome? Try another browser for the DMSGuestbook admin page.
You can ignore this error message usually, but create me a WordPress admin account and I will check this as sonn as possible.

Hallo Daniel!
Mir ist folgender Fehler aufgefallen:
Obwohl die Datei dmsguestbook.css beschreibbar ist (wird auch schön grün angezeigt) werden die CSS-Einträge in der Datenbank gespeichert und – das stört mich am meisten – bei einer Änderung der Einstellungen die Einträge der dmsguestbook.css verworfen. Beispiel: Ich habe die dmsguestbook.css geändert und per FTP übertragen. Layout passt! Nun ändere ich den Optionen z.B. Captcha-Einstellungen und speichere > Es wird das Standardlayout gesetzt > Ich muss wieder die dmsguestbook.css per FTP übertrage damit alles passt.
Persönlich finde ich es eh nicht so optimal, dass Du die CSS-Einstellungen in der Datenbank speicherst. Ich würde generell nur auf die dmsguestbook.css setzen und diese wie z.B. bei “Design > Editor” bearbeitbar machen.
(Alternativ könntest Du auch eine neue Option einbauen: CSS in Datenbank speichern JA/NEIN)
Was ich mir außerdem für die Zukunft wünschen werde: Derzeit gibt es anscheinend keine Möglichkeit die Navigation über die Templates zu bearbeiten. Das wäre schön wenn es gehen würde.

Danke für dein Feedback.
Momentan bin ich die ganze Template Sache am überarbeiten, die Idee ist, dass das Template komplett über eine PHP und CSS Datei gesteuert wird.
Der Vorteil: Das Template Layout und alle Funktionen die gewünscht werden können so einfach und flexibel angepasst werden.
Nachteil: HTML, CSS und ein wenig PHP Skills sind vonnöten.

Das sind doch mal super Nachrichten an so einem verregneten Samstag!
Warum Nachteil? Wenn ich jetzt am Layout etwas verändern möchte brauche ich auch schon Grundlagen in HTML, CSS und PHP. Daher sehe ich das nicht als Problem an.
Wenn Du einen Beta-Tester suchst, sag Bescheid.

das hat nichts gebracht.. sehr merkwürdig. Hab eben auch mal auf 3.0.1 aktualisiert, aber auch dies hat nichts geändert.. was könnte da sonst noch die Ursache sein??

jetzt hat es doch geklappt. Hab einfach mal mehrmals deaktiviert und aktiviert und nun ist das Menü da.. danke für das Plugin! Und für Deine Hilfe.. vll. war es auch ein Caching Problem

Hallo, jetzt habe ich doch noch eine Frage.. und zwar in welcher Datei kann ich einstellen wie die Einträge dargestellt werden? DIese werden ja in ein table Tag gesetzt und dort wird eine css-Klasse angewendet. Ich möchte aber eine eigene Klasse verwenden, weil mein Blog für Tabellen ein spezielles Format hat, welches aber bei dem Gästebuch ungeeignet ist.

habe mir das dms Gästebuch Plugin runtergeladen jetzt bekomme ich ein Fatal Error. Was muss ich da einstellen?
Hier der Fehler:Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in /mnt/web2/42/08/52215508/htdocs/karstenlive/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 278
Ich hoffe du hast eine Lösung dafür.

Erstelle im wp_admin Verzeichnis die Datei php.ini und schreibe dort “memory=40MB” (ohne Anführungszeichen) hinein.
Sollte dies nicht funktionieren, so kontaktiere deinen Provider und bitte diesen die Limite zu erhöhen.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to include the guestbook within a page. Nothing changed in the Guestbook settings, but I just noticed it’s indeed working now (probably after I clicked the Clear All button). I hope you manage to make it visible in the settings page too!

Wurde das Widget in der Plugin-Sektion aktiviert und unterstützt dein Theme Widgets?
Wenn ja, dann muss unter “Appearance -> Widget” das DMSGuestbook-Widget noch hinzugefügt werden.

kann ich die css settings (werden aktuell aus der Datenbank geladen laut settings) nur auf meiner einen page laden lassen, auf der das guestbook aktiviert ist? Momentan werden die .css settings sitewide geladen, wenn ich im html code schaue. Das ist natürlich unsinning für meine zwecke, da ich das css lediglich auf einer seite brauche.

Die CSS-Settings werden immer geladen und über die entsprechenden Klassen und ID’s gesteuert. Ein anderes Verhalten lässt sich nur durch das Ändern des Codes realisieren, aber ein partielles ein- und ausblenden der Einstellungen macht keinen Sinn.

Wenn Du Dein Plugin eh überarbeiten willst, bau doch auf die Kommentar-Funktion von WordPress auf und ergänze sie mit einigen sinnvollen Gästebuch-Spezifischen Funktionen.

klasse Gästebuch. Leider funktioniert es bei mir nicht. Ich habs schon 25 mal alle möglichen Einstellungen probiert. Ich scahffe es nicht das Gästebuch auf einer dafür vorgesehene Seite meines Blogs zu veröffentlichen. Das Widget in der Sidebar wird angezeigt. In den Admin Bereich komme ich auch, nur wenn ich dann die Seite auswähle auf der das Gästebuch erscheinen soll, erhalte ich eine 404 Fehlermeldung “Page not Found”. Liegt es daran das ich qtranslate laufen habe (dieses Sprachplugin für mehrsprachige Seiten?

Eventuell bin ich auch verwirrt mit den Einstellungen. Mein Mozilla will dann das Passwort vom Admin ändern “MyUsername”

Ich möchte bei den Gästebucheinträgen weder ein Datum noch eine ID anzeigen lassen.
Ich schätze mal die post_header1 und 4 sind dafür zuständig, doch ich finde die Stelle einfach nicht wo ich diese Anzeige ganz rausnehmen könnte.

Today – on my local testserver/-machine – I upgraded your nice guestbook to version 1.17.0, but now I don’t see the entries anymore. All I see in the frontend is the number of entries, the navigation menu and then some empty boxes (like a table). Backend shows up fine, no problem there…
I checked the guestbook setting under ‘basic’, they seem alright.
Any easy ‘fix’ for this?

Try to solve this problem by clicking on the “Restore default settings – All data will be replaced” button in “DMSGuestbook -> Guestbook settings”.
Did you change anything else in your WordPress? (Themes, Plugins, Settings)

I can give that a go, just one question before I proceed with that option: Will it erase the guestbook entries in my database? (if it does, I need to back ‘m up first of course…)
I’ve upgraded to WP 3.01 recently, other than that nothing major (only some other plugin updates).

Reverted to the default settings, but that did not solve the issue… I also tested the guestbook with all other plugins deactivated, but that also did not solve the issue…
As you can understand I am a bit reluctant to update the ‘live site’ from 1.16 to 1.17 since it might happen there as well…
Any other suggestions?

wir stellen unsere Seite auf WordPress um, benötigen für eine Aktion ein Gästebuch. Dazu hätte ich 3 Fragen:
- Können zwei Gästebücher über eine Anmeldung laufen bzw. die Anmeldedaten des einen in das andere übernommen werden?
- Gibt es die Möglichkeit zur Kommentierung von Einträgen?
- Können weitere Eingabefelder über die Admin-Oberfläche generiert werden oder muss da in die Programmierung eingegriffen werden?

Ja, unter “DMSGuestbook -> Guestbook settings -> Basic” lassen sich mehrere Gästebücher innerhalb einer WordPress-Installation realisieren.
Ja, unter “DMSGuestbook -> Entries -> Edit (HTML) -> comment”
Es lässt sich eine zusätzliches Selectbox unter “DMSGuestbook -> Guestbook setting -> Extended -> Additional selectbox:” hinzufügen. Weitere oder andere Eingabefelder erfordern Programmieraufwand.
