DMSGuestbook und WordPress 2.8
Es gibt ein kleiner Bug zwischen dem DMSGuestbook Widget und WordPress 2.8.
Beim editieren und speichern des Widget werden die Daten nicht mehr in den Textfeldern angezeigt und die “Example” Links sind deaktiviert.
Ich arbeite daran und ein Update ist unterwegs.

There is a minor bug in DMSGuestbook and WordPress 2.8.
Textfields don’t shows any datas after saving the widget and all “Example” links are disabled.
I’m working on it and an update is coming soon.

I have a strange problem. Without upgrading to your latest version I can see the DMSGuestbook icon in my Admin panel but when I do upgrade that Icon disappears along with the ability to get to the Dashboard of the Guestbook.
Also, before the upgrade of your plugin but after the upgrade to wp2.8 I cannot use any of the guestbook fuctions such as Settings etc. I get this statement “You need 0 rights to have access to this page.”
Any idea what may be wrong?

OK, I think I know what the problem is as it happened to another blog I manage.
On my own site, thesoulgirl.com, it didn’t give me the option to upgrade the database. Is there a manual way of doing this?

I’ve downloaded the latest version of Guestbook and activated it in one of my 2.8 test sites. I see it listed under plugins but don’t see any options for configuring it. Meaning I don’t see it listed in the Dashbar or anywhere else. Am I missing something? I’m searching your site for answers but thought I’d post.
Any help is appreciated.

Changing the option worked as I’m now able to see the Guestbook options in the Dashboard. What I can’t seem to figure out now is probably so basic I feel foolish even asking. I don’t seem to be able to set the page ID. I navigate to DMSGuestbook – Guestbook Settings, scroll down and see the page I want to assign the guestbook to but don’t see where to add it. I don’t get a response when clicking “Not selected”. I next try to add the page via the editor but it also doesn’t work. Am I missing something?
Any help appreciated.

Wie soll ich denn die Einstellungen vornehmen können? Irgendwelche Ideen?

Moin. Ich würde gerne dein Guestbook nutzen und habe es auch schon installiert. ich kann auf die konfiguration zugreifen aber wie ich dem gästebuch eine seite zuweisen soll, ist mir schleierhaft. ich kann unter guestbook settings nur eine liste meiner seiten sehen aber ich hab keine zuweisungsoptionen. wäre nett wenn du es hier mal erklären könntest. ich nutze wordpress.2.8.3

Here is some more information.
I am trying your plug-in on my local host. I can’t see the date info on top of each post (message). The example date in the admin section (time/date) isn’t displayed. I’m using UTF8.
Server Settings Localhost (Xampp)
Server: Apache/2.2.12 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.12 OpenSSL/0.9.8k mod_autoindex_color PHP/5.3.0 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.0
MYSQL Server: 5.1.37
Memory Limit: 128M
When I try to install the plugin on my on-line site, I can see the example time/date in the admin section. But I can’t choose the guestbook on the desired page. When I click on “set” and save the settings, nothing happens. The selected language isn’t displayed any-more and the guestbook isn’t visible.
Database is using Latin1 Swedish (Hostplan.nl)
Server Settings on-line site:
Server: Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.4-2ubuntu5.7 with Suhosin-Patch
MYSQL Server: 4.0.24-standard-log
Memory Limit: 64M
Next year we will change the hosting, because the the MySql server is old fashion.

I’ve been struggling with configuring the guestbook, using Chrome. When you try to edit the configuration, it is (at my place) not possible to open the different paragraphs (Basic, Extened, Colors, …). When I switch to IE, it all works. Maybe Sven had the same problem?

Hallo.
Ich habe ein Problem bei der Anzeige.
Im Admin-Bereich ist eingestellt, daß im GB immer eMail-Adresse und Homepage angezeigt werden sollen.
Jedoch wird bei mir nix von beiden angezeigt. Die Icons sind richtig verlinkt.
Hab es auch schon mit einem Standard-Theme versucht, aber auch dort wird kein Icon
bei den Beiträgen für HP und eMail angezeigt.
Woran kann dies liegen?

Eine gleichnamige Javascript Funktion zerreisst dir den HTML Code auf der Seite.
Ich kann es leider nicht überprüfen, da du mir keine Admin Rechte vergeben hast.
